Yes, It is definitely possible. I would even argue it is possible to build a space hotel within this decade. German scientist Wernher Von Braun first proposed this idea in 1960’s where a rotating wheel-like station would be created that will house up to 450 people. We have the technology today to create a space hotel. The problem is not building the hotel in space, but requires massive funding with an updated blueprint of the entire space hotel.
Space hotel could be built on Low Earth orbit with the objective of seeing Earth’s glowing view as well as stars and dawn of sunrise. This way, low gravity does not harm the health of tourists for long term stay in space.
There needs to be infrastructure to the space hotel: financially feasible, accessible, and reliable transportation such as docking stations will be needed to create entry and exit stations. Space shuttles would periodically need to fuel and refuel back to Earth. (The docking hub will be most likely included in the center.)
Properly thought-out ventilation systems will be needed for oxygen controls, get rid of carbon emissions, and hydrogen. The hotel should be made with strong and sturdy materials. Sleeping bags will be used to attach to the superstructure, creation and entertainment will be needed to increase space tourism as cost will be high at first but, then it will start to become economically affordable. Lobby, restaurant, gym and games room will be needed to occupy tourists in space hotel.
The food eaten will be stored, be frozen, and dried. Employees will need to grow food out of experimentation. Their needs to be a separate section for a restaurant for people to dine in. Sustainable water and food supplies would need to be sheltered/stored in mass amounts from space shuttles in a weekly/monthly basis.
Growing plants in space
It is important grow food in space just so one day we might have figured out a way to live sustainably in space.
The space hotel in other words will be a resort, so in reality, its the flight that is expensive rather than living in the hotel.
Guests will have to go through a vigorous pre-launch health screening to determine if they are suitable for space travel. If they have certain health conditions then they would not be able to qualify.
